Wonders of Greenland (2014)

Savikanta primary school
Imatra, Finland
December 2014

I visited a primary school to tell children about my trips to west and east Greenland onboard a sail yacht. I tailored six 45-minute sessions to children aged 7 – 12, with aim to widen their horizons of the world.

I talked about geography, culture, animals and icebergs of Greenland. Sailing and life onboard a sail yacht was also exciting for them, which hopefully may later inspire them to try new outdoor sports.

The kids liked the supporting photographs and videos, and especially animals evoked a lot of comments. Relaxed, yet informative attitude allowed children to ask questions and engage with the topic.

In total about 150 children heard about wonders of Greenland during my visit.
